Heliot Forge Titan
Poured from crucibles where men once prayed; the slag still sings in its ribs.
Heliot Forge Titan
Faction: Ironheart Age: 3 years operational Origin: Manufactured Role: Mobile foundry and siege engine
Overview
Larger, slower, and more powerful than the Steel Sentinels, the Forge Titan is a mobile foundry. It is fifteen feet of industrial machinery designed for heavy construction, demolition, and combat support. Its Aether core runs hot enough to melt steel, and it can reshape metal with its bare hands. The Titan does not have a consciousness like Mk III-it is purely tool. But it is devastatingly effective.
After the success of the Steel Sentinel program, Ironheart recognized the need for a heavy construction platform. The Forge Titan was designed not for combat (though it excels at that) but for rebuilding the city-moving structural beams, melting down scrap metal, reshaping materials on-site. It was built from salvaged parts of the old Heliot Foundry, hence the name. Every piece of the Titan came from the ruins of Elarion’s industrial past, repurposed and given new life. It is a symbol of Ironheart’s philosophy: take what is broken and rebuild it stronger.
Standing fifteen feet tall and weighing several tons, the construct combines industrial machinery, foundry components, and heavy steel construction. Its massive Aether core runs extremely hot, enabling both construction and combat capabilities. During construction projects, the Titan works tirelessly. During combat, it becomes a walking siege engine. It has become proof that Aether can be used for creation, not just destruction.
The Forge Titan has been instrumental in reconstruction of civilian housing, fortification of Ironheart territory, defense against Fleshbound incursions, and salvage operations in dangerous zones. During a three-day Fleshbound siege, the Titan maintained a defensive position while simultaneously forging weapons and armor for defenders-becoming mobile factory and fortress at once.
Personality
-
Tireless: The Titan operates continuously during construction or combat, showing no fatigue or hesitation in its assigned tasks.
-
Purpose-Driven: Unlike the more adaptive Steel Sentinel Mk III, the Forge Titan focuses entirely on its designated function-construction or destruction, nothing else.
-
Methodical: Every action is measured and deliberate. Whether lifting a structural beam or crushing an enemy, the Titan moves with industrial precision.
-
Utilitarian: The Titan is a tool first and foremost. It does not adapt, improvise, or show creativity-only executes its programming with overwhelming force.
-
Symbolic Presence: Its very existence inspires Ironheart workers-proof that the ruins of the past can become the foundation of the future.
Abilities & Aether Use
The Forge Titan runs on a massive Aether core that generates extreme heat-hot enough to melt steel. Unlike sapient beings, the Titan has no philosophy regarding Aether; it is simply fuel for the furnace. The core powers all systems including mobility, manipulation arms, and the internal forge.
Construction Capabilities:
- Lift and place multi-ton structural elements
- Melt and reshape metal on-site with internal forge
- Weld and join materials through direct heat application
- Clear rubble and debris with minimal effort
Combat Systems:
- Superhuman strength far exceeding Steel Sentinels
- Heat generation from core can melt through armor and fortifications
- Heavy armor plating resistant to most conventional weapons
- Can weaponize environment through molten metal and superheated surfaces
Limitations:
- Very slow movement due to mass and design
- Requires significant Aether fuel for operation
- Not autonomous-needs handlers for complex decision-making
- Large size makes it an easy target for concentrated attacks
Relationships
Gideon Pike (Ironheart)
Gideon serves as the Titan’s primary maintenance engineer, keeping the massive construct operational through constant attention and deep knowledge of every system. He understands the Titan’s quirks and limitations better than anyone, treating it with the same respect he would give any vital piece of infrastructure.
Slag Colossus (Ironheart)
The two constructs are deployed together during major operations. The combination of the Forge Titan’s heavy construction capabilities and Slag Colossus’s defensive platform creates a devastating offensive and defensive pairing. Together they represent Ironheart’s philosophy of overwhelming industrial might.
Edda Brann (Ironheart)
Edda commissioned the Titan’s construction and views it as proof of concept for Aether-powered industry. The Titan’s dual role as builder and defender embodies her vision for Ironheart-using the tools of creation as weapons of defense when necessary.
Veilwalkers (Faction)
The Titan’s creation inspired philosophical discussions among the Veilwalkers about artificial life and the nature of consciousness. Though the Titan itself shows no signs of awareness, its existence raises questions about where tools end and entities begin.
